The collection of artworks explores her journey of finding stability and slowly exploring her strength towards freedom. Through mark-making on paper while listening to sounds inspired by her experiences. In collaboration with sound artists, Derrick Tay and Ou Kexin.

Wildflower is a deeply personal body of work documenting Patricia Thebez’s journey through identity, mental health, healing, and the search for freedom. Developed over a decade, the series traces her experiences of living with bipolar disorder—from diagnosis and uncertainty to finding stability and gradually reclaiming a sense of self. Through spontaneous mark-making, vibrant colours, and intuitive compositions in watercolour, acrylic, coloured pencil, and ink, Thebez transforms inner emotions and memories into visual landscapes. Inspired by her growing connection with nature and movement, the works reflect a gradual breaking away from familiar patterns and societal expectations, moving toward a more liberated and honest way of being. At its heart, Wildflower is a reflection on what it means to feel different, to grow beyond the labels placed upon us, and to find the courage to exist freely and authentically—like a wildflower growing in its own way.
